How to treat high ammonia nitrogen wastewater and what methods are used?

2025-03-13

With the rapid development of industry and the acceleration of urbanization, the ammonia nitrogen content in wastewater continues to rise, posing a serious threat to the environment and human health. Therefore, there are several methods for treating high ammonia nitrogen wastewater, including the following:

1. Oxidation precipitation method: Oxidation is carried out using oxidants (such as ammonia nitrogen agents) and then precipitated to achieve the purpose of purifying wastewater.

2. Biological treatment: The purpose of purifying wastewater is achieved through oxidation by specific microorganisms such as nitrifying bacteria, ammonia oxidizing bacteria, etc.

3. Membrane method: The purpose of purifying wastewater is achieved through membrane filtration.

4. Ion exchange method: The purification of wastewater is achieved through ion exchange using ion exchangers.

5. Blow off method: Introduce gas into water to allow sufficient contact and reaction between the gas and water, and blow off volatile substances from the water to achieve the purpose of treating pollutants.

6. Steam extraction and ammonia distillation method: The ammonia water in the wastewater is distilled, and steam is introduced to evaporate the ammonia nitrogen in the wastewater, reducing its NH3-N content, and then recovered by cooling.

7. Deamination membrane method: using membrane technology to separate free ammonia from wastewater, and then absorbing it through H2SO4.
