Purpose
It is used for the determination of coliform bacteria in drinking water and source water.
Inspection principle
Peptone and beef extract provide carbon and nitrogen sources as well as minerals. Lactose is a fermentable sugar. Sodium chloride maintains a balanced osmotic pressure; Bromocresol purple is a pH indicator. It appears yellow in acidic conditions and purple in alkaline ones.
Usage
Weigh 23.0 grams of this product, add it to 1000mL of distilled water, heat and boil to dissolve, then aliquot into test tubes with inverted tubes and sterilize at 115℃ under high pressure for 20 minutes for later use.
Quality control
Prepare the culture medium according to the label usage, inoculate the following quality control strains, and place it in aerobic culture at 36±1℃ for 24±2 hours.
