FT74XA UHT/HTST System
The FT74XA UHT/HTST system consists of the main unit, control system and Armfield small heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is installed on the top of the equipment and it is very simple to switch between the two types of heat exchangers, which only takes a few minutes. The main unit contains a water storage tank, a material pump, an instrument device for heating the exchanger and an electric hot water boiler with a circulation pump. It is controlled by a complete programmable logic controller (PLC) and comes with a high-resolution full-color touch screen panel for the operation interface. A novel feature is the feed pump, which has two speed ranges: a low-speed range for UHT processing and a high-speed range for cleaning in place (CIP) or processing at high output and low temperature. The flow rate is fully variable in each range. The feed pump is a sanitary screw pump controlled by a frequency converter to compensate for any slippage in the pump motor. Therefore, the product flow rate determines the accuracy and can be directly used for various purposes by setting the pump speed. The calculated flow rate can be displayed on the screen. There is also an optional electromagnetic flowmeter (FT74-40). The standard FT74XA allows historical temperatures to be recorded to a USB drive for later analysis. At the same time, an advanced data logging system with software can directly record temperature, product pressure, pump speed, etc. to a Windows PC (PC not provided). The accompanying software provides a series of complex real-time graph and chart display tools for more details. The small tube heat exchanger FT74-20-MKIII is the standard tube heat exchanger, which uses multiple 316 stainless steel tubes for heating and cooling the product. By adjusting the hot water flow rate of the two water pipes, the product can be gently preheated. Then, four heating tubes further heat the product. The standard configuration will also provide a 2-second and a 15-second (at a flow rate of 10L/hr) holding tube. Four cooling tubes can be used as single-stage cooling or separated for two-stage cooling, with the first two tubes cooled by cold water and the last two tubes cooled by alcohol or ice water (Armfield FT63 chiller can be purchased as an option). The FT74-20-MKIII can be upgraded to the FT74-24-MKIII (as follows). The FT74-24-MKIII is an extended version of the FT74-20-MKIII, with 8 cooling tubes (4+4). When the last four tubes are connected to ice water or alcohol and a static mixer is installed, depending on the product, flow rate and sterilization temperature, the outlet temperature of the product can be lower than 10 degrees Celsius.
The FT74-21 is a static mixer for two heat exchange tubes, which can enhance the heat exchange efficiency of tube heat exchangers. This option can be used when heating or cooling products with high viscosity. Using multiple sets can achieve more satisfactory heating and cooling effects. Additional static mixers can be added at any time.
